K.J. Wright revisiting Kenya in fundraising effort

It is the period of the NFL calendar through which players take more time to return to charities and causes that are close to their own hearts. While players do charity work the summertime gives greater chances for bigger gifts.
K.J. Wright is one high-profile case.
The Seattle Seahawks linebacker is heading to Kenya to test in on the wells he helped finance this past year.

“It just hit on my heart,” Wright said of the final trip to Kenya, through the group’s official site. “I am always trying to help people whenever I can, and I just learned of a scenario I had no thought about, and it just touched me personally to do something”
Wright helped raise over $75,000 — such as the $25,000 received for being called the Seahawks’ 2018 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee — to pay for 2 colonies, with some money left over to help provide future aid into the region. The 29-year-old noted during the season that each well costs about $20,000.
“You see where they get their water from, it’s terrible what they have to do to get water, so this could be large to them,” Wright stated.
Helping to get a vital life source to people needing has been an undertaking of several NFL players, together with Wright’s participation being the most recent example of how these guys can have an enduring impact not only on the area and in their regional communities, but around the world.
